Through TLI I have come to appreciate the Church’s heart for immigration and the value it gives to upholding human dignity. As an owner of a law firm, I’ve decided to incorporate the Church’s teachings on my immigration practice. The bible teaches (in Exodus 22:21) “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt.” (Leviticus 19:33-34 says) “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.” Apart from protecting the dignity and rights of migrants, I have decided to tithe through my business doing 10% of cases free. My staff and I will designate families in need of help and we will surprise them working their case without a fee.
