Bio
A Native of Mexico, Armida studied Communications at Universidad del Noroeste and holds a Diplomat in Thomistic Studies. She works as the Family Planning and Fertility Awareness Consultant at Life Choices Women’s Clinic and has two decades of experience as a Natural Family Planning teacher. She, along with her husband, has Certification as presenter – diocesan wide and in Mexico- of The Theology of the Body, St John Paul II’s seminal catechesis on human sexuality and the integrated vision of the human person. Also with John, she volunteers for the Diocese of Phoenix in Marriage Preparation Courses both as leader as well as for the training of other presenters; speaks extensively in matters of healthy sexuality.
Armida is producer and hostess of “Siempre Sí”, a daily, live Spanish Radio Show in En Familia catholic Radio. She is very happy to serve as a member of the NFP Advisory Board in the Diocese of Phoenix. Armida is author of the essays “Bases Teológicas y Éticas de la Planificación Natural de la Familia” (2002); “Diseñados Para Tener [un] Sexo y Para Hacer el Amor” [2000] (“Designed to Have [a] Sex and To Make Love”); “Homosexual Parenting, is It in the Near Future?” [1998]; and of the Audio CD “Meditaciones sobre la Misericordia Divina” and other short length pieces. With her husband, she co-wrote “A New Language: Meditations on Theology of the Body and Natural Family Planning”. A course for couples and single adults that offers a bird’s eye overview of St John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and apologia for planning a family the natural way.
Her most valuable accomplishment has been a complete gift: a homemaker, she’s been married to John – enjoying tremendously the ‘for better’ part of their vows; and learning from, or at least trying to laugh at the “for worse” part, later [sometimes much later…], for over 30 years; and is the very blessed mother of five grown, beautiful children between them.
