Bio

Edward Herrera is the Executive Director for the Evangelization Institute in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, where he was previously the director for the Office of Marriage and Family Life. In that role, he worked with parishes on creative ways to transform their marriage preparation process.

Most recently he developed Given, an innovative marriage retreat (www.archbalt.org/marriage), along with How We Grieve, a story-based grief podcast (www.howwegrieve.org).

Prior to moving to Maryland, he was the director of adult faith formation at a large parish in Houston, Texas, where he accompanied couples as they prepared for marriage and to baptize their children.

Edward earned a B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, a master’s degree from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and holds a Certificate in Catholic Innovation from the University of Notre Dame’s IDEA Center. Edward resides in Parkville, Maryland with his wife, Joanna, and their children: Max, Lucy and Grace, and Leo.
