Elizabeth Chavolla is a Multi-Platform Digital Producer for KVEA Telemundo 52. She is the recipient various awards, including four Radio and Television News Director Association and four Emmy’s. Elizabeth has been with the company for 16 years. During this time, she has produced the two-hour morning, daytime and evening shows and was proud to have been part of the team that launched the weekend and define the look for the newly added 5pm newscasts at KVEA.
Her current position requires her to create content for the stations online and social media platforms as well as assist with the newsroom’s editorial any digital needs. Previously, Elizabeth was an Executive Producer, Producer and Assignment Editor in her hometown of Sacramento at the KUVS-19, as well as an Assignment Editor and Associate Producer at the ABC affiliate KXTV-10. She also worked as a Producer at KTVW-33 in Phoenix. She launched the first Spanish Morning show in Northern California, A Primera Hora, in 2002.
Elizabeth is also the current leader for Comcast NBC Universal’s Latino group, Unidos So Cal, an Employment Resource Group, that promotes Diversity and Inclusion in the workforce. The main purpose in this role is to empower her colleagues professionally, personally and culturally. Elizabeth is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalist and has helped mentor hundreds of students who pursue careers in communications. Under NAHJ, she has served as part of the Student Projects where 20 professional journalists help nearly 40 junior/senior students prepare for their first professional job in journalism. Many of her alumni are now professionals in the industry.
Elizabeth strongly believes that hard work and education will allow anyone to succeed, as long as you surround yourself with positive people and carry a positive attitude. When not at work, Elizabeth likes to run, read, travel, volunteer and mentor students as well as, spend time with her family.
