Rob DeFrancesco

Bio

Rob DeFrancesco serves as Director of Communications for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix and served for many years as Associate Publisher of The Catholic Sun Newspaper.

He works alongside a talented team of mission-driven individuals to help lead the Diocese’s internal and external communications strategy, while working collaboratively with senior leadership to ensure the Church’s message is articulated throughout the community. Rob has more than 17 years of experience informing, influencing and connecting with large, diverse audiences through web, social media, television, radio and print.

Rob serves as spokesperson for the Diocese of Phoenix and provides public- and media-relations counsel to staff, churches, schools and partner agencies. He manages production of a weekly television program, two radio programs, three podcasts, multiple websites and several social media channels.

Additionally, he is past president of the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada and served as a consultant to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Communications Committee. Rob serves as Western Region Representative and on various committees for the CPA Board of Directors. Rob and his wife, Megan, are parents of two funny and energetic boys, and he and his family call St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Chandler home.
