Bio
Sonny R. Santa Ines currently serves as Council Member of the City of Bellflower, California. He was first elected in March 2011 and was reelected for another four-year term in March 2015 and November 2018. He served as Mayor in 2014-2015 and 2019-2020.
Sonny serves in various organizations such as the Southeast Los Angeles County Workforce Development Policy Board, California Joint Powers Insurance Authority, Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District, and Los Cerritos YMCA. He was State Deputy of the Knights of Columbus in 2016-2017. He is a Lecter and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. Bernard Parish in Bellflower.
Sonny was Chief Financial & Administrative Officer of the Weingart Center Association, a not-for- profit organization providing services to the homeless community of Skid Row in Los Angeles, Chief Financial Officer of Children’s Dental Group, Vice President of Finance and Administration of Child Care Resource Center, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to child care and early childhood education, Controller of the Products Division of Sunkist Growers, Inc., and Senior Auditor of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Sonny is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor. He has a master’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach, Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting Option, from the Philippine School of Business Administration, and Certificate in Early Childhood Education from UCLA.
Sonny is happily married for almost 40 years with wife Irma. They are blessed with son Mark and daughter Ellen.
