Bio
Tami serves as the Chief Development Officer of Esperança, a Phoenix-based global health organization founded in 1970 by a Franciscan missionary. With a servant leader heart and mindset, she brings 30 years of experience and professionalism to the role with an extensive background in managing communications and fundraising efforts for both faith-based and secular organizations, including Catholic Charities of Arizona, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona, St. Francis Xavier Jesuit Parish, the Sisters of Mercy, Ronald McDonald House Charities and the American Cancer Society.
Being a part of a church family and putting faith into action has always been a top priority for Tami and Jim, her husband of 32 years. Their involvement includes teaching 6th grade CCD as newlyweds, coaching parish school sport’s teams, as well as serving on the school board and parish stewardship council. Tami currently serves as a Pastoral Advisory Council Member for St. Francis Xavier Parish and recently completed a term on the Board of Directors of the Greater Arizona Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals where she chaired the signature annual event and awards celebration and served as marketing chair. She also serves as a mentor for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and instructs at both ASU and the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at Maricopa Community Colleges.
A California native, Tami is a graduate of Fresno State University with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Public Relations and a Certified Fund-Raising Executive accreditation. Her hobbies include gardening, she was part of a team of social justice minded women who “grew” a community garden in central Phoenix to provide food for nonprofits serving those in need. She and Jim also love to travel and are looking forward to visiting adult children in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Fort Collins, Colorado.
